01 / THE EXPERIENCE

PLATO / THE UNSEEN

The chains loosen.
What now?

You have known only shadows. Now something has changed. An escape room inside an onchain artwork, inspired by Plato’s cave. Five gates stand between you and what lies beyond.

The glimpse stops at the threshold. The puzzles, clues and discoveries belong to your journey.

“And now look again, and see what will naturally follow if the prisoners are released and disabused of their error.”

Plato · Republic, Book VII · translated by Benjamin Jowett

One glimpse. The rest stays behind the door.

Countdown to the planned launch. Final OpenSea setup is in progress. Mint is not open.

  1. 01

    Prepare your wallet.

Use a Base-compatible wallet. Buying and playing require ETH on Base for the price, when applicable, and network fees.

  2. 02

    Collect on OpenSea.

When the drop opens, check the confirmed price, availability and collection address before approving a purchase.

  3. 03

    Return and play.

Connect the wallet holding your NFT in Your journey. Each gate uses two transactions: commit, then reveal. The public glimpse shows atmosphere only, without a wallet or puzzle access.

The drop opening and your piece’s 24-hour adaptation are separate clocks. No purchase or mint request opens automatically on this website.

03 / FIELD NOTES

A little clarity,
before the unknown.

Follow the making ↗
How does the free claim work?

The launch plan offers up to 25 confirmed collector wallets one mint each at 0 ETH, plus network fees. A waiting list can replace unconfirmed applicants before the final wallet list is locked; it does not grant mint eligibility.

The planned free window lasts 24 hours: 25–26 October, closing at 2:00 PM Eastern (ET). Unused collector allocations expire and become paid inventory. Paid minting is targeted for 26 October at a time to be confirmed after final setup, at 0.005 ETH plus network fees. Final marketplace settings are still being prepared.

Mint only through the official OpenSea collection. Registration has closed; confirmed claim details will appear on @PlatoUnseen. No purchase, wallet connection or signature is needed to submit a public wallet address privately; never send a recovery phrase or private key.

How many pieces are reserved for the creator?

Two of the 520 original mint allocations are reserved for the creator at a mint price of 0 ETH. They are separate from up to 25 free collector mints. Unclaimed collector allocations expire at the end of the free window and join the paid inventory. If all 25 are claimed and both creator allocations are used, 493 originals remain for paid minting. Network fees still apply.

The first creator allocation was used for the live Base test: Cave #1 was burned and replaced by EIDOS #1. That replacement still counts as one of the two creator allocations; it does not create an extra reserved mint. The second creator mint is planned shortly before the collector opening.

This is an allocation disclosure, not a promise that the creator will hold the pieces forever.

Can I explore without owning a piece?

Yes. The public glimpse shows only the atmosphere of the cave. It contains no playable puzzles, requires no wallet and does not change any token. The live journey requires a Cave or EIDOS piece in your wallet.

Is the public drop open?

The public drop is planned for OpenSea on Base and is not open yet. The current launch target is 25 October 2026 at 2:00 PM Eastern (ET), subject to final OpenSea setup. The planned paid mint price is 0.005 ETH plus network fees. The approved free-claim plan is 25 October at 2:00 PM ET through 26 October at 2:00 PM ET (24 hours). Paid mint timing will be confirmed after final setup. These windows are not active until the final OpenSea configuration is signed and verified. Follow @PlatoUnseen for confirmation. Visit The drop section for the current status. There is no mint transaction on this page.

Has the transformation been tested on Base?

Yes. In the first mainnet test, Cave #1 was burned and EIDOS #1 was created for the same holder in one transaction, preserving the token number, object and traits. View the confirmed transaction on BaseScan ↗. This test is not a security audit.

How can I express interest in the first collector group?

We are preparing 25 free collector mint entries, separately from two creator copies. The invitation and entry rules will be published by @PlatoUnseen on X. General registration has closed. After verification, winners will be asked to send a public Base-compatible wallet address by direct message to that account. Never send a recovery phrase or private key. No wallet address needs to be posted publicly.

For selected participants, the mint price will be zero, but network fees still apply. Playing involves two wallet transactions for each of five gates. The final transformation is optional, irreversible and also requires a transaction.

Why two transactions for each gate?

The first records a commitment to your answer. The second reveals it and completes the gate. After the commitment confirms, review and approve the reveal. Check a pending request before starting another.

What happens during the 24-hour wait?

Completing the fifth gate starts a 24-hour transfer lock on the Cave token. It is part of the experience, with no yield or accelerated exit. After expiry, refresh progress to see the next steps.

What is EIDOS? Can I undo the transformation?

EIDOS is the counterpart created by the final transformation. The transaction permanently burns the Cave token and mints its EIDOS replacement with the same token number. The transformation is optional and irreversible.

What if I close the page or a transaction gets stuck?

Return with the same wallet, browser and website address, then refresh progress. Completed gates are onchain. Pending reveal information is stored locally, so keep your browser data. Check the existing transaction or use its hash in the recovery panel before sending another request.

What does IPFS preserve?

IPFS identifies a release by its content. A new release has a new content identifier. Availability depends on nodes keeping and serving the files, and browser access may use a gateway. The contracts separately record your journey.
